How it works
First connect a number at a carrier; see Connect your number at a carrier. Then set your usual number to forward to it. Most businesses forward only the calls they miss: your phone rings first, and the agent takes the call if nobody picks up, the line is busy or the phone is off. Or forward every call, and the agent answers them all.
In the dashboard, your carrier trunk’s settings and setup’s Connect step show these steps with your carrier number already in them, and a copy button for each code. Below, +442079460000 stands in for it: always write it in full, with + and the country code.
From a mobile
- Dial a code below as if it were a number, and press call. Your phone shows a message when forwarding is on.
- iPhone and Android settings also have Call forwarding, but it sends every call. The codes can send only the calls you miss.
| To forward | Dial |
|---|---|
| The calls you missno answer, busy or switched off | **004*+442079460000# |
| Only when you don’t answerafter 20 seconds of ringing | **61*+442079460000**20# |
| Every callyour phone doesn’t ring | **21*+442079460000# |
| Stop forwardingall of the above | ##002# |
These codes work on most mobile networks. Some networks in the US and Canada, and most landlines there, use their own codes instead, with the 10 digits and no +1:
| To forward | Dial |
|---|---|
| The calls you missno answer or busy | *712025550100 |
| Every callyour phone doesn’t ring | *722025550100 |
| Stop forwarding | *73 |
Your mobile network may charge forwarded calls like a call you make to that number. A number in your own country keeps it cheap.
From Microsoft Teams
- In Teams, open Settings and more (…) next to your profile picture, then Settings → Calls.
- Under Call handling and forwarding, set what happens to calls you don’t answer: forward them to a new number, +442079460000, and pick how long they ring first.
- To send every call instead, switch on call forwarding there and pick New number or contact: +442079460000.
Forwarding to a phone number needs a Teams Phone license, and your Teams admin may have to allow it.
Menus change between versions. If yours doesn’t match, Microsoft: call forwarding in Teams has the vendor’s own steps.
From Zoom Phone
- Sign in to the Zoom web portal and open Phone → Settings. Under Business Hours, click Edit next to Call Handling.
- Under When a call is not answered, choose to forward to an external number, and add +442079460000 with its country.
- Do the same under Closed Hours if the agent should take calls when you’re closed.
From RingCentral
- In the RingCentral app, open Settings → Phone → Call handling. On a mobile: Phone → Call handling.
- Under Missed calls, choose Forward to number and enter +442079460000.
- To send every call instead, switch on Forward all calls and choose +442079460000.
Menus change between versions. If yours doesn’t match, RingCentral: how incoming calls are handled has the vendor’s own steps.
From a landline or another phone service
- Look in your provider’s settings, or ask it, for call forwarding when busy or unanswered (sometimes called conditional forwarding), to +442079460000.
- Many landlines also take the mobile codes. Dial one as if it were a number.
Your provider may charge forwarded calls like a call you make to that number. A number in your own country keeps it cheap.
Check it works
Call your usual number from another phone and let it ring. The agent should answer within the time you set, and the call shows up in Calls. A forwarded call arrives as a call to your carrier number, not your usual one, so whichever agent answers the carrier number answers it. If nothing arrives, see When calls don’t arrive.
If forwarding gets switched off later, at your phone or by your provider, calls stop reaching the agent without anything looking wrong. Once a number has had steady calls, we email you when they stop for longer than usual.
