Sign up with your email address and confirm it from the email we send. The trial needs no card. It lasts 14 days and includes $1 of calls on our Gemini key, enough for a good few short calls. Trial calls last up to 5 minutes each. Details are in Plans, trial and credit.
1. Make your agent
There are two ways, and you can switch between them at any time:
- Describe it. Tell it about your business in a few sentences, or send a voice note. It writes the agent for you: its name, greeting, role, tone and the facts it should know. Ask for changes the same way.
- Set it up yourself. Start from a template, like a clinic or an IT helpdesk, or from nothing, and fill in each part yourself.
Either way you pick a voice, and can hear your greeting in it before you choose.
What the agent knows comes from what you give it: quick facts, notes, documents and your website. Leave a fact’s answer empty and the agent offers to take a message instead of guessing. See What an agent knows.
2. Talk to it
The test call runs in your browser with your microphone. Ask it what your callers ask. While you talk you see what it hears and what it says. If something’s off, change the agent and call again. Test calls use your trial credit like any other call.
On a test call, a transfer doesn’t ring anyone: the agent tells you where it would have sent the call.
3. Connect your phone line
Your calls reach the agent over a SIP trunk, the same way they reach any phone line. Nothing to install. Pick the case that fits:
- Your number is at a phone carrier and you have no phone system. Connect your Twilio or Telnyx account with a key, and we set everything up there. Another SIP carrier takes five steps by hand. Connect your number at a carrier.
- You have a PBX, like 3CX, FreePBX, Yeastar or Grandstream. Add a trunk with the password the dashboard gives you, and send it the calls the agent should take. Connect your PBX.
- Your number is on a mobile, a landline or a cloud phone that can’t send calls over SIP. Get a number at a carrier, connect it, then forward your number to it, only the calls you miss or every call. Keep the number your callers know.
The Connect step listens for your first call and shows it arrive. Then call your number: the agent answers, and the call shows up in Calls with its summary, transcript and cost.
You can skip this step and connect later from Phone system. If a call doesn’t arrive, see When calls don’t arrive.
Before your callers reach it
- Set a fallback. On Phone system, give the trunk a number or extension for the calls the agent can’t take, and test that your carrier or PBX accepts it. Without one, those callers hear a busy tone.
- Check where summaries go. Each call’s summary goes to your own email from the start. On Notifications, add your team’s inbox or a webhook, or send only the calls that need a follow-up.
- Decide on recording. It’s off unless you switch it on for an agent. See Recording and privacy.
- Pick how calls are paid for before the trial ends: Vorelai credit, or your own Gemini key. Adding either now means nothing changes for your callers when you pick a plan.
Each agent has an Answers calls switch. Switched off, its calls go to your fallback.
